For the 27th year in a row, La Crosse and Onalaska Letter carriers are making it easy for community members to help re-stock the area's food pantries.
The annual Letter Carriers' Food Drive, organized locally by the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 59, happens on Saturday, May 11.
Can you help make this day a success? Great Rivers United Way is recruiting volunteers to accept the food gathered by driving teams, and put it into a truck.
Also, encourage everyone you know to join you in donating food:
- Place non-perishable food and hygiene items by your mailbox no later than 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 11. Please do not wait until your mail usually arrives to set out donations. All food collected stays local, benefiting these agencies and more:
- New Horizons Shelter & Outreach Centers
- Onalaska Food Basket
- Prince of Peace Food Pantry (La Crescent)
- The Hunger Task Force of La Crosse
- WAFER Food Pantry
