The Myrick Park trail system connects to more than you think. Bunny trails will take you to the Hixon Forest trails which connect to the top of the bluff and Upper Hixon Forest trails. Or, follow the Myrick trails on a bike out of the park, connect to the state trail system and ride all the way to Trempealeau in the north or Reedsburg to the east. The marsh acts as a natural watershed of the Mississippi. While hiking through Myrick Marsh watch for Great Egrets, Greenbacked Herons, a wide variety of waterfowl, Common Moorhens, terns, rails and wrens. On UWL Day of Service, volunteers will help beautiful Myrick Park and the Marsh trails by picking up trash throughout the area. Trash bags and gloves will be provided.
We will start the day at 9:30am in the Student Union Lower-Level E-Cafe and return at 1pm for lunch and reflection.
