The Inclusion and Adapted Department at the La Crosse Area Family YMCA provides a variety of recreation opportunities for individuals of all ages and all abilities. Our programs are designed to work toward individual goals with an overall purpose of enhancing individual’s quality of life through recreation.
Our programs would not be possible without our Inclusion Volunteers. As an Inclusion Volunteer, your role is vital to the success of our programs and our participants. Within all of our programs, a volunteer is paired up with the same participant each program session to help develop a trusting, and positive relationship. Each program is led by a trained inclusion coach or instructor, as a volunteer, you are there to help support, encourage, and motivate your participant.
Youth and adults with diverse abilities and their siblings are offered a playful, less structured environment designed for building comfortability and water play in a social environment through our Adapted Open Swim program. Inclusion Volunteers are there to assist in the water by playing games, and having fun!
