Description

Volunteers will dress for being outdoors in the weather for a free, exciting June 14 "Celebrate the Mississippi" event that brings families and individuals outdoors to learn to fish, play disc golf, walk with an interpreter through a forest, complete a BioBlitz in I-Naturalist, help with a photography contest or other similar activity.  Volunteers will be matched to their interests wherever possible.  Volunteers should arrive by 9:45 am at Goose Island County Park Shelter #3 (W6488 County Rd G I, Stoddard, WI) and stay until at 2 pm if possible.  Shortened shifts are 9:45 am to 12:15 pm or 12 pm to 2:15 pm.  Please make clear arrangements.  Bring your best attitude to make this a wonderful experience for yourself and for the families and individuals looking to enjoy the Saturday of Fathers Day weekend. Bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen or whatever the weather demands that day. Our conservation group hopes to help people find ways to enjoy and appreciate the outdoors, with an emphasis on the Mississippi River.  Please contact Betty with any questions wisconsinbettydeboer@gmail.com and THANK YOU for your time!
