Garlic is a wonderful food crop that does well in the midwest. It is planted at the "wrong time" of year meaning in the fall rather than the spring. This hands-on workshop will describe how to plant and grow garlic. After discussing the project and answering any questions, we will plant about 4000 cloves of garlic in the Kane Street Community Garden. This garlic will form a bulb and be ready for harvest next July. At that time it will be harvested and given out for free to the community.
Stop by to learn about growing garlic and to help to plant the crop. All attendees will be given some garlic for planting in their own gardens if they would like.
Feel free to stop by and help for some or all this event!
