Oktoberfest is a time of heightened need of Operation: River Watch, and your assistance is greatly needed. Your volunteering will be very beneficial to the safety of our community.
River Watch is a way we can help prevent people from falling into the Mississippi. What this entails is redirecting intoxicated and/or lost individuals away from the river, and sometimes helping them call a cab, a sober friend, or medical assistance in an emergency. Oktoberfest sees an increase in visitors to the La Crosse area and an increase to intoxicated people in the Downtown area, and so the need for help is increased.
We will be meeting at the 3rd Street First Aid Station (Located near the Subway) for signing in, and then going to Riverside Park. The night will be split up into 3 two hour shifts:
9PM-11PM 11PM -1AM 1AM-3AM
