Who We Are

Girl Scouts builds girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.  Girl Scouts was founded in March of 1912 by Juliette "Daisy" Gordon Low in Savannah, Georgia. She encouraged girls to prepare not only for traditional homemaking, but also for future roles as professional women--in the arts, sciences and business--and for active citizenship outside the home. Dedicated solely to girls in grades K-12 regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation or socioeconomic level, Girl Scouts is the premiere leadership organization offering girls the tools they need to be successful leaders now and throughout their lives. In Girl Scouting, girls Discover themselves and the environment around them, girls Connect with others and build healthy relationships, and girls Take Action by identifying community needs and help make a difference locally & globally.
