Who We Are
St. Clare Health Mission of Monroe County is a free medical clinic for income eligible, uninsured adults over the age of 18 years. Established in 1996, the free clinic provides medical care for acute and chronic health needs of uninsured adults (at or below 200% of FPL). Prescription medications are dispensed at no cost to patients from the in-house pharmacy. Over 45 providers and community members provide care at the 1st and 3rd Tuesday evening clinics. The free clinic is totally dependent on volunteers and financial donations by area churches, civic groups, businesses, foundations, and individuals.
How Volunteers Help
Mission Clinic volunteers include medical and pharmacy providers, nurses, social workers, interpreters, and clerical support who volunteer at the twice monthly evening clinics in Sparta. The non-profit organization is a volunteer run clinic with a part-time clinic coordinator and volunteer medical director. Administrative support during non-clinic hours is also needed.
