Each year, Rotary Lights collects hundreds of pounds of food donations for local organizations - and we need your help to bring those donations into our shelter!

We're looking for volunteers to help unload boxes of food from the delivery truck and carry them into the basement of our shelter. This work helps stock our pantry and ensures that families in crisis have access to nutritious meals throughout the year.

Details:

Volunteers will meet at New Horizons Shelter after the food drive ends (around 10:45PM).Tasks include unloading and carrying boxes of food (boxes can weight 15-20 lbs each) down a flight of stairs.Must be able to lift and carry moderate weight safely.Great opportunity for individuals or small groups!

Overview: 

New Horizons is seeking enthusiastic and professional volunteers to assist with follow-up calls to local businesses that recently received sponsorship and donation request letters for our upcoming Galentine's Day Brunch Fundraiser. This event raises vital funds to support our life-saving services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

Role Description:

Volunteers will contact area businesses who have not yet responded to our sponsorship letters. Each business was asked to consider supporting the event through either:

A monetary sponsorship (which goes directly toward supporting survivors) orAn in-kind donation (item or gift certificates used in our raffles and auctions to raise additional funds).

Volunteers will help ensure that all 600+ businesses who received letters have been personally followed up with to increase community participation and event success.

Responsibilities:

Make polite, professional follow-up calls to local businesses using a provided call list and script.Track responses, commitments, or declined offers.Provide basic event and sponsorship information as needed.Report updates or questions from businesses to New Horizons staff.

Qualifications:

Friendly, professional phone manner.Reliable and organized with attention to detail.Comfortable speaking with local business representatives.Ability to represent New Horizons positively.

Time Commitment:

Flexible scheduling; calls can be made during regular business hours (Monday - Friday).Volunteers are encouraged to commit 2-4 hours per week until follow up is complete.

Location: 

This volunteer opportunity can be completed remotely - volunteers do not need to come to the New Horizons office.

What You'll Do:

Sell raffle tickets to event guests.Answer basic questions about raffle prizes and encourage participation.Walk around during event to engage with guests and promote sales

Volunteer Requirements:

Must be comfortable approaching and engaging with guests to encourage sales.Must be able and willing to walk around during the event.Experience in sales or customer service a plus!

Join us for a morning of fun, friendship, and fundraising - and help make a difference in the lives of survivors. 

We are currently seeking passionate, community-minded individuals to volunteer with our Trempealeau County Outreach Program. Volunteers play a vital role in helping us connect with the community, raise awareness, and build strong partnerships that expand our reach and impact.

 

Some of the ways volunteers can support our work include:

·         Assisting with informational tabling events

·         Helping us network with local businesses

·         Facilitating or attending community meetings to foster partnerships and promote our mission

 

Whether someone has a few hours a month or is looking for a more active role, we welcome all levels of involvement. Volunteers will receive training and ongoing support for our outreach team to ensure they feel prepared and confident in their roles.
