Great volunteer opportunity for students looking to gain experience in healthcare while helping others!
This volunteer assignment is located within the surgery and procedure department of our La Crosse Medical Center and includes a great deal of patient family interaction time.
Surgery Family Waiting Area Volunteers provide comfort cares to families and loved ones in the surgery waiting area, improving their experience during a stressful and anxious time. Volunteer are trained to act as a liaison between persons in the waiting area, the patient, and medical staff throughout the surgical process. Volunteers make themselves aware of the needs of persons in the waiting area, working to provide a comfortable and welcoming environment.
Volunteers gain expertise on the entire surgery process, from pre-procedure to recovery. This is a great opportunity for college students on pre-professional tracks or anyone interested in an active, patient-facing volunteer opportunity!
