Needs From: University of Wisconsin-La Crosse

The UU of La Crosses mission highlights a focus on becoming a more welcoming, dynamic, diverse community, using their non-doctrinal foundation to attract and nurture more seekers. They seek to develop a stronger identity as a uniquely progressive faith with special strengths as collaborators, conveners, and social justice servants. Volunteers will assist with outdoor projects at the UU. Closed toed shoes are required and a water bottle is encouraged.

The 7 Rivers LGBTQ Connection's mission is to create spaces for connection, community, education and advocacy for LGBTQ+ people, our allies, and our neighbors. Volunteers at this site will help The Center prep for their garage/paper bag sale.

The STAR Center provides universal access to health resources. Assistive technologies and adaptive equipment are available outside of a medical or physical therapy setting for community based independent or group exercise. Volunteers at this site will assist with maintenance of our sport wheelchairs.

The La Crosse Community Theatre has been a tradition for the Seven Rivers Region since 1963. The Theater performs numerous musicals, comedy and drama performances providing entertaining shows each season. Volunteers at this site will help with either the Community Theatre's blackbox set or building the set for the upcoming musical.

The Hunger Task Force Kane Street Community Garden was established in 1998, and produces, on average, 30,000 pounds of fresh, locally-grown vegetables each year. Garden produce is given away FREE to the community on harvest nights. Volunteers at this site will assist with garden clean up and prep to getting the beds ready for planting. Close toed shows are REQUIRED and water bottles are encouraged.

Habitat for Humanity of the Greater La Crosse Region has been building and rehabbing homes in La Crosse. Volunteers at this site will assist with the construction of a home using construction tools. Close toed shoes and long pants are REQUIRED. Water bottles are encouraged.

Habitat ReStore sells new and gently used furniture, appliances, building supplies, home goods, and more while using 100% of their profits to build and repair homes in the Greater La Crosse Region. Volunteers at this site will assist with unloading donations, putting donations on the floor, and various tasks at the Restore.

GROW is a non-profit on a mission to connect youth with healthy food and nature through hands on garden based experiences to nourish growing minds and bodies. Volunteers at this site will assist with preparing gardens at either the greenhouse or the school gardents (location TBD)

First Teen Clothes Closet provides free, stylish, gently used clothes and toiletries for teens in a boutique style setting. Volunteers will assist with organizing donations of clothing items and help upkeep general cleanliness of the space.
